Space Display

To finish off our work on our Space topic (including our “Earth and Beyond” science work) we have created a display, showcasing what we have learnt. The children have drawn representations of the planets, as well as written short factual pieces about them. They have also decided where they would like to go if they were an astronaut. Surprisingly, no-one wanted to visit a black hole! The children have also done the most beautiful pastel art work on the planets, which we have put up as a border around the room. Here are a couple of photos to show you what we’ve done.

Coming soon: We’ll be sharing our brilliant Mars space projects with you.

Rocket Shape Poems display

Our newest display in class is of the shape poetry work which we completed recently. The poems are excellent and show a really good range of vocabulary. The display also includes the brilliant mission patches which the children created for their Mars missions. Our next display will be replacing our Viking ship (I must admit, I love it so much I don’t want to take it down!), I’m just waiting for the shipment of black backing paper to arrive!

Our Classroom

In class 3 we like our classroom to be bright and colourful. I like to showcase the children’s work as well as include interesting facts and objects related to our topics.

I know that not all of the parents/carers have been into class yet, so I thought I’d share a few photos of our display boards.

The first board you see as you walk into the room contains the passports to class 3 that the children completed on the icebreaker day. It also has some of the lovely coats of arms that they drew to represent themselves.

At the bottom of the frame you can see the fantastic laptop trolley that we were using today in our ICT lesson.

The next board is our recycling board. It contains lots of posters that they children made to explain how and why you should reduce, reuse and recycle. The objects to the bottom right include recycled and reused materials, and there are some relevant books available too.

Our target board is in our book corner. Each child has a rocket containing their target for this term.

The final board is our topic display. As you can see, our topic this term is Vikings:

Each child has written a question that they have about the Vikings onto a speech bubble. I’ll photograph some of those questions for another post, but suffice to say that some are thought-provoking and some are downright hilarious!
